There is no doubt that the transition to the green energy and economy, is based on the consumption of mineral resources, that consequently leads to a gradually increasing demand for scientists, specialized in the issues of mineral resources, petrology and environmental management.
In this context, the subject of the MSc specialization “Mineral Resources-Petrology and Environmental Management” focuses on the study of the environment and the mineral resources, icluding petrology aspects, exploration methods and formulation of genetic models useful to ore extraction and reuse of mining by-products, within the frame of circular economy.
Additionally, in response to emerging environmental challenges, this specialization emphasizes on applied and innovative research, in order to provide comprehensive training to the students on the natural/geological processes or/and human activities, that affect the quality of the soil, surface and underground waters, as well as the atmosphere.
The students of this specialization will have the opportunity to participate in the Program Erasmus+ «ARTeMIS -Action for Research and Teaching Mining Exploration Inclusive School» . For information regarding this program please contact the ARTeMIS Representative in NKUA, Prof. Panagiotis Voudouris.
